The 18th International Youth Leadership Conference is a week-long youth forum on world politics, international relations and justice.
This summer we will be welcoming 120 students from 40 different countries for an open-minded exchange of diverse perspectives on contemporary global challenges. The IYLC blends social interaction with cultural and academic components to create a cohesive experience that promotes cross-cultural youth participation and socially responsible leadership.
The International Youth Leadership Conference proactively involves its participants in
- Simulation of the United Nations Security Council Emergency Meeting
- International Criminal Court Mock Pre-Trial
- Model European Parliament Proceedings
- Visits to foreign embassies, Senate of the Czech Republic, PricewaterhouseCoopers and other governmental and non-governmental institutions
- Group debates and panel discussions on international security and justice, environmental sustainability, non-discrimination, leadership ethics and responsible policy-making
- Meetings and banquet dinners with leading experts, diplomats, politicians and businessmen
Scholarships
In the coming months, Civic Concepts International will be awarding 30 scholarships in a form of substantial conference fee reduction to students who come from unprivileged communities around the world. We hope that these scholarships will enable students from Sub-Saharan Africa, South-East Asia, Middle East, Latin America, the Carribeans, the Pacific and many other regions to attend the 18th International Youth Leadership Conference in Prague.
Anglo-American University is the Official Academic Partner of the 18th IYLC
Attendance in the IYLC earns an academic credit, equivalent to one third-year political science semester hour from Anglo-American University in Prague.
Alumni of the IYLC are eligible for a 15% reduction of the tuition fees for the first year of enrolment in bachelors and masters programs (including study abroad programs) at Anglo-American University in Prague.

Czech Airlines is the Official Carrier of the 18th IYLC in Prague, July 19th - 24th, 2009. Feel free to ask for the discount of 10% from applicable Economy Class fares and 15% from Business Class fares. For more details see below.

The deadlines for the acceptance rounds in June are June 10th, June 20th and June 30th. The ultimate deadline for all applications is July 10th! If we receive your completed application (including two essays) before one of these dates, you will receive a notification of your status within 5 days after completion of the corresponding round.

University professors and academic staff can now attend the IYLC as observers. As part of a special program, observers will have an opportunity to monitor conference activities, interact with participants, gain insights and ascertain its academic and cultural components. Details
